My brother yarning became a perfect opportunity to create an image similar to those of Christian Thompson. I tried to mimic Thompson's plain background with a person wearing a natural wreath of some sort on his head. I also tried to make it a bit more comical, similar to thompson's work by catching my brother during a yawn.
You did a really good job with the photoshop of this picture. I really like the contrast between the serious face of one of the originals (the one with the pink flowers) and the yawn.
ReplyDeleteNice job with the photoshop skills! I wouldn't have guessed the leaf was inserted... Good composition and lighting... Left side of the picture seems too blank.. maybe add vignetting?
ReplyDeleteVery interesting photo. The plant and placement reminds me of Caesar, not sure if you were going for that or not, but it's pretty cool. I would have included the top of his head, but that's just me. Great work!
ReplyDeletei like how yours incorporated a funny, non-static facial expression to react to the plant wearable. good lighting, color, and framing. colors of skin tone look good so you effectively color corrected. you could do a larger series like this!
ReplyDeleteI like that you snap the picture at the right moment. I find funny that you added some elements on the picture via Photoshop to make it even funnier, but I'd suggest to go all the way down if you wanted to make it funny: adding text, raising the color level, making it bright and what not.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a good job mimicking Thompson's work. To me it seemed very successful in your comical nature. Overall very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI like the facial expression you caught him in, but think that something more in the background would have worked better.
ReplyDeleteI think you captured him at the perfect time and the framing also works very well. The photo is whimsical, like the original photos were. Overall, I think it's a really successful image.
ReplyDeletei like how the plant looks like it belongs. like an old greek god. i would have liked to see more on the left side of the picture, like he was breathing plants to life.

It really match with Thompson's photo. Nice choice for the leaves and I also like the color of your photo. Nice camera angle too. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI love his expression. It's a combination of yawning and shouting. I also really like how you framed the subject in the corner.
ReplyDeleteI like the colors in this image. The greens and oranges really seem to pop. You did a good job adding in the leaf, because It looks authentic. I would try putting the subject in different positions. There is a bit too much blank space in this image.
ReplyDeletemaybe add more color to the frame by warming the tones over all. to make the leaf more realistic, try darkening it or adding shadows, de-saturate the bright green, and center your subject. great concept!
ReplyDeleteYou did a good job recreating the original photographer. I would be curious to know what it would be like without the yawn.
